Bunny Run

A strange gathering happened in our side yard this weekend.

They came from across a busy rural road, from as far away as the back garden plot (3 acres away), and from both neighbors lawns.

They converged under the Hawthorn Trees. The bunny tracks were wild and scattered as far as you could see.

I believe Spring is in the air.

p.s. 8" of new snow fell in the last 18 hours with more predicted. Nix previous comment!

Item of the Week

15% off all Bluebird Nestboxes and Poles

Did you know that bluebirds can begin arriving in SouthWest Michigan as early as mid February?
Take advantage of our "Item of the Week" and save on nesting boxes for the returning bluebirds.

Poor ecological practices in the past almost eliminated these colorful songbirds, but with the help of Bluebird Conservation and BackYard Bird Habitats they have made a wonderful comeback.

You can continue to help this conservation effort by placing a nest box early in season.

Soon

Soon, very soon we will have color in our own gardens.  When the wind is howling, it is snowing like mad and we see no end in sight.  Isn't it wonderful to remember soon it will be over and Spring will be upon us.

On Holiday

While on Holiday, am still on the look out for anything pertaining to the shoppe.  Could not resist this road sign while sitting in central Florida traffic.

Stop in and visit Paula during regular shoppe hours, we don't want her getting too lonely.

Watch for new "Item of the Week" posting tomorrow!

Item of the Week

15% off This Week Only - Feburary 4th - 10th
Filled with 1 of our Premium Birdseed Mixes!

Introducing the "Item of the Week". Every Monday starting Feburary 4th we will be spotlighting a product in the shoppe. Offering you a brief history on the product, uses for, why we favor it, and .....a special discount on the product if and only if you mention the blog posting.

In honor of "National Birdfeeding Month" the item of the week will be Cedar BirdFeeders. Green Wellies carries several brands of Cedar Feeders that are manufactured in Wisconsin. We try very hard to buy goods manufactured in the USA, an increasingly difficult task.

A Hopper Style Feeder is a must for attracting a large variety of birds. I especially like the feeders from Backyard Nature Company, they have a removable metal mesh bottom which is excellent for drainage and easy clean up.

So take advantage of this discount and treat your backyard birds today!
